About the Tour

Each tour leaves Haleiwa Harbor and lasts approximately two hours. Our fleet includes custom-made aluminum boats, the 36-foot KAIOU, the 42-foot ABUNAI, the 36-foot ISAO, and the 32-foot ANELA, which include a canopy for shade and cushioned seating for comfort. We hold an informative safety briefing at the beginning of each Oahu shark tour, followed by a brief history of the experience with your safety in mind. Masks and snorkels are provided, however, you are free to bring your own (fins are not necessary).

The sharks we see range in size from five to fifteen feet, and are often just inches away from the cage and the spectators inside! We travel offshore three to four miles to our cage moored in the beautiful cobalt blue water. The visibility is so good (often 150 feet or more) that you can actually see the sharks come up from the deep. Often on the way, you may also encounter dolphins, Hawaiian green sea turtles, and magnificent humpback whales (November through May).

Our cage can hold up to eight people comfortably, allowing small families to experience their shark dive together. No chumming is necessary as the sharks are attracted to the sound of our motors which they interpret as a crabbing vessel and a potential food source. Guests are encouraged to bring their own underwater cameras for the opportunity to capture the best footage of Hawaiian sharks anywhere. Disposable cameras and a video option are also available for purchase.

The first tour starts at 7 a.m. with the exception of June through August when the first tour departs at 6 a.m. Additional tours occur up to 11 a.m. and, depending on availability, later tours are available. Plan your shark diving Oahu experience with us! Book online today!

What to Bring
If you know you have motion sickness or believe you will have motion sickness, please take precautions the day before your shark tour or at least one hour before. We provide masks, snorkels, and cold drinking water. We encourage you to bring towels, swimwear, a change of clothes, a hat, sunglasses, eco-friendly suntan lotion, a backpack, snacks, a still and video camera, and your own mask and snorkel if you want to. You may want to consider taking seasick prevention measures. We have available to purchase underwater cameras and a video service shot in 1080p. You’ll be able to get the best shots of Hawaiian sharks possible.

Weather
In Hawaii for the majority of the year, the winds are at their calmest at the beginning of the day and gently progress throughout the day. To take advantage of the calmer morning conditions, we operate our morning tours first before opening later tours. If you’re only able to make an afternoon appointment, please call or email us for recommendations. We’ll see sharks no matter what time of day or you don’t pay.

Safety
Safety is our first concern. We begin each tour with an informative safety briefing followed by a brief history of our shark tour. Here’s where you’ll understand how we’re able to guarantee shark sightings.
