How do I get to and from my surf lesson?
Kona Mike’s does not provide any transportation, other than your surfboard. You will need to transport yourself to the surf shack and then from the surf shack to the beach. Directions to the surf spot will be provided at the briefing.
What time do I need to be at the surf shack?
Prior to the start of the lesson, we will conduct a mandatory safety briefing that will last approximately 30 minutes.
• For 9 am lessons, please be at the surf shack no later than 8:00 am.
• For noon lessons, please be at the surf shack no later than 11:00 am.
How long does the lesson last?
We will spend up to two hours in the water, due to, but not limited to, the timely arrival of guests.
What if the waves are too big?
Kona Mike’s has several surf spots for lessons. The best spot will be chosen based on that day’s ocean conditions. If waves are epic (too big and not safe even for Kona Mike) classes will be rescheduled.
What if I get tired during the lesson?
You will be given an option to hang at the safety buoy and rest until you’re ready to charge it again or conclude your lesson, in which case an instructor will escort you back to the beach.
