Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Kona Coffee Farm Adventure

Have you felt the hot steam coming from a steam vent? Walked on lava fields? Seen a coffee tree and tasted fresh-brewed Kona gourmet coffee? Viewed videos of ancient Hawaii on your personal iPad?

The iPad Volcano tour is one of our most popular tours because we do all this and more. We spend time on the beach with turtles basking on the black sand all with a small group of people and iPads to enrich the experience.

Where will you pick me up?

We offer two pick up areas: Kona (pick-up included in tour price) and Waikoloa (pick-up fee of $10 per person). If your choice is Kona Airport, please be advised that there is an airport tax of 3% of your tour price.

I don’t see a departure date that would work with my schedule, can I still take a tour?

Please do not hesitate to call us directly if this is the case. We may be able to offer you a special tour package depending on your group size or add a tour if necessary.

How much luggage can I bring?

We have very limited space for our tour. Please carefully look at our what to bring tab for information on what we believe to be essential. It can be frustrating to hold a bag of items you never use on your lap during the driving sections. We will stop at our storage unit before the tour departs where you may store items during our trip. You must sign a waiver to store any items in this location. There are security cameras, a digital code to unlock our unit, and a padlock that only we are allowed access to. We cannot guarantee the safety of your items but we consider it a necessity to use a facility we believe in offering a high level of security.

What do I need to bring?

Things you should have on your checklist for overnight tours: walking/hiking shoes/boots, flip flops, sunglasses, hat, sunblock, bug spray, camera, towel, toiletries, medication, rain jacket, sleeping bag (if you would like to bring your own), pillow, swimsuit, info for travel insurance, pants, shorts, pajamas, t-shirts, socks, undergarments, backpack or bag, wallet

How are you green?

Hawaii Outdoor Guides offers trips that give our guests a great island experience without driving back and forth between activities. We follow a natural path around the island that uses fewer fossil fuels than separate activity tours. The water that we offer from Volcanoes National Park is rainwater that is sand filtered with pumps powered by solar energy. We constantly look for ways to lessen our impact on the environment. Hawaii is one of the most beautiful places in the world and we want to do our part to keep it that way.

Our tents are two-man tents made by Nemo Equipment and in most cases, you have a tent to yourself because we want you to be comfortable. Our sleeping mats are made by Thermarest and are the z-lite mat that combines weight and function perfectly. U.S. divers make our snorkel equipment.

Do I need to buy Travel insurance?

Please do buy travel insurance before your trip. If you happen to fall or have any problems when you are on our trip you want to be covered. We recommend Travel Guard but there are many reputable travel insurance agencies.
